The MMPs (Matrix Metallo Proteinases) are a group of about 20 enzymes specialized in the breakdown of the extracellular matrix components. Their role is to cause a slow degradation of the matrix so that it can be renewed. During the process of skin ageing and also due to environmental factors (such as UV light), the balance between MMPs and their inhibitors is disturbed. This imbalance causes an increase in MMP activity and the intensive breakdown of collagen, elastin, and other matrix components.
The direct result is loss of skin elasticity and firmness, and excessive wrinkle formation.
Recent research demonstrated that it is possible to use MMP inhibitors in cosmetic preparations to prevent degradation processes in the tissue and to improve skin firmness.
Matrix Gold Mask

The flowers of Calendula officinalis contain flavonol glycosides, triterpene oligoglycosides, oleanane-type triterpene glycosides, saponins, and a sesquiterpene glucoside.
Medicinal effects
Plant pharmacological studies have suggested that Calendula extracts have anti-viral, anti-genotoxic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Calendula in suspension or in tincture is used topically to treat acne, reducing inflammation, controlling bleeding, and soothing irritated tissue. There is "limited evidence" that Calendula cream or ointment is effective in treating radiation dermatitis.

Intensive Peeling Alpha Hydroxyl
The product is based on 10% - 15% alpha-hydroxyl acids at low pH (3.5) and 10% urea. The gel is left on the skin for seven minutes. It has an excellent renewing effect on the skin.
It is intended to be used by professional beauticians only.
Bottle A contains the enzyme together with vitamin C in dry powdered form. In this way the enzyme remains fresh and active. Bottle A is used in combination with each of the three forms of this Intensive Peeling (i.e. combinations are Bottles A+C, A+B, or A+D).
Bottle C contains no alpha-hydroxyl acids. It contains panthenol, for its calming and moisturizing effects, and it is intended to be used in preparing the enzymatic peeling with the vitamin C. The A+C mixture is for more sensitive skin types.
Bottle B contains a 10% alpha hydroxyl acids solution in a gel form at pH 3.5. At this pH the acids are in their active free form. The gel contains also 10% urea in order to increase the keratolytic effect. Bottle B has high concentrations of Aloe Vera and Calendula extracts for their calming effects. The A+B mixture is the moderate form of this Intensive Peeling.
Bottle D contains a 15% alpha hydroxyl acids solution in a gel form at pH 3.5. At this pH the acids are in their active free form. The gel also contains 10% urea in order to increase the keratolytic effect. Bottle D has high concentrations of Aloe Vera and Calendula extracts for their calming effects. The A+D mixture is the strongest form of this Intensive Peeling.
